Children’s programme in the Schladming-Dachstein region
Hello dear parents – hello dear children!
The children’s programme from 13th of June to 9th of September 2011, is free with the Schaldming Dachstein Summer Card. We can gladly make reservations for your children for the programmes and are able to provide you with further information on the different activities. Some of the programmes are very popular and have a limited number of participant places – please seek information on participation and pre-book in advance through our hotel.
Monday
Wild, Wild-West
We meet at
the Native American & Cowboys’ campground. In the tipi, thrilling stories
await us. We can show
our skills with bows and arrows. In between, everyone can improve their
horseback riding skills with our riding instructor.
Meeting
point: 11am at the Feriengut Seiterhof
Tuesday
Rock-climbing taster course on the rock–adventure day
From 10am
to 12pm, 1pm-3pm and 3.30pm to 5.30pm. 1 tour takes about 2 hours with a
maximum of 8 children per group. Equipped with climbing harnesses and helmets,
roped up and well protected, it’s all about conquering the rock. The motto is
“learning how to climb in a playful way”.
Meeting
point: Rohrmoos-Untertal, Gasthof Weiße Wand (only in good weather)
In case of
bad weather we will meet in the school’s sports hall (Hauptschule 1) and do
indoor climbing, instead.
Trial horseback riding at the Breilerhof and trial horseback riding at the Huberhof
At 10am we will meet at the Breilerhof (Fastenberg). The trial horseback riding is for all children from the age of 6 years and the Icelandic ponies are already waiting for the children. In the afternoon there will be trial horseback rides at the Huberhof – meeting point 4pm – for all children from the age of 12.
Children’s party in the Waldhäuslalm
From 3pm to 5pm; music – games – make-up and much more can be experienced in the Waldhäuslalm.
Wednesday
Family adventure hikes to the Duisitzkar
We take a
hike to the picturesque Lake Duisitzkarsee, collect wood for the bonfire as
well as stones for the stone oven, where we will make our own bread. With
natural materials we will also create our own art pieces.
Meeting
point: 10am Rohrmoos-Obertal, Eschachalm (only in good weather)
Miner experience in Obertal (alternative bad weather programme)
Meeting point 10am at the Holdalm in Obertal. A lot about miners tales will be told here. We go through a tourist mine, play games whilst listening to myths. Every child can mint his or her own souvenir coin.
Thursday
Archery for children
This is where
children can wander through the forest with bows and arrows just like Robin
Hood. Firstly, there will be a professional introduction on the exercise field
and afterwards we stroll through the forest to hunt the 3D-figures like
rabbits, deer and bears.

point: 10am at the Schieplechnerhof in Untertal (only in good weather)
Patty-cake (alternative bad weather programme)
The baker will make delicious dough and we then form different cookies and decorate them. Afterwards we of course taste our “work”. Meeting point 10am at the Lasser bakery in Erzherzog Johann Street in Schladming.
Friday
Children’s joinery on the Fastenberg
Drilling, hammering, sawing ... as much as you can. Under the expert’s guidance some small art pieces will be created like cars, cubes, figures and abstract buildings. Children can get to know the organic material of wood and just let their fantasy run riot. Try this extraordinary holiday experience and make your own personal souvenir. Meeting point: 2pm – 5pm at the Breitler joinery on the Planai.
