Portals, pillars and figures are hewn into the walls and caves and lit with mysterious lights in the middle of the glacier. Because of its constantly alternating ice figure exhibitions the Dachstein Ice Palace is always a new experience.

Experience of nature

With 140 metres height of fall the Riesach water fall is one of the highest waterfalls in Austria. A 12 km long hike along the water, over chain bridges and through a divining nature brings you to the truly impressive waterfall and back.

Schladming old town

The history of Schladming town goes way back – in the past many precious materials like silver, lead or copper were mined here. Explore the town's history and the history of the mineworkers, who worked underground, at the municipal museum. Remains of these olden times can be seen all over the town. The former city wall as well as grandiose churches gives an approximate image of what Schladming looked like, centuries ago.
